I started putting together a chart that would show the relationship (first cousin, second cousin once removed, etc.) between everyone on the tree before I realized it would drive me stark staring mad. So if you're interested in your relationship to another Clamage I direct you to the Genealogy.com web site for an explanation of how to figure this stuff out. I've heard two versions of the origin of the name "Clamage," both from Grandpa Maurice and therefore extremely suspect. The first is that it is a corruption of "Klayne Mensch," meaning "little man" in Yiddish. The second is that it's from "Klayne Mitts" -- little hands. You decide. |
